About this Course

Beadwork begun as a way for Indigenous Peoples to express themselves artistically. Each nation and tribe have their own styles and patterns of beading. Today beadwork is made for jewelry in many forms and for traditional regalias for dancing or ceremony. Beadwork has been, and will continue to be significant in representing Indigenous resiliency as well as highlighting the distinct cultural value of Indigenous peoples. Beading can be very grounding, and a way to express yourself. During this workshop, each participant will make a beaded keychain.
