About this Course

This is a great introduction to woodworking covering the main aspects of lumber preparation and best practices in the safe use of the major power tools such as the jointer, planer and table saw amongst others. Woodworking Basics covers some of the same objectives as Woodworking Level 1 but is a little less demanding. This course is perfect for any complete beginner or someone with long ago woodworking experience needing a refresher. The project is an edge grain cutting board of premium hardwood. Topics covered are as follows: 1: Introduction to lumber classification, grain and moisture related movement. 2: Shop and machine safety. 3: Power tools (Mitre Saw, Jointer, Planer, Table saw, Router table) . 4: Basic assembly methods.
